Preface
It had been ten years since Queen Hellicus tried to conquer the world in the Great War. No one was sure why she stopped her advance last time, but now she and her Emos Army are on the move again. It appears that this time Queen Hellicus has found a source of elven weapons as she is using them in every battle. This fact alone has the other kingdoms worried as elven magic and weapons are rare and thus used sparingly in battles.
Queen Sara Bellfourth faces many battles in waging this war. Not only must she battle Queen Hellicus with her seemingly unlimited source of elven magic, but she also had to unite the warring kingdoms as only numbers can overpower the Emos army. She had to figure out the source of this elven magic and destroy it. Through her spies, she found out that Queen Hellicus had found an Elven Citadel. This citadel appears to be the source of her magic, magic that includes dragons.
She sent her husband, her beloved Duke Bellfourth, to an ancient elven city to find some way to destroy the citadel. Although they were successful in finding a way to destroy it, her Duke was captured in a raid by the Emos and their dragons. Only a private was able to escape and bring her the device that will destroy the citadel.
She embarked on a daring, joint kingdom mission to try to destroy the citadel and to save her Duke. As they traveled through the Dragon Back Mountains, she finds that there is only one person that knows the way through the mountains into the Emos Kingdom, a mysterious man known as The Woodsman. As they travel to Lake Luka and the pass into Emos, they encounter an Emos patrol. In the aftermath of the battle, they find out that Queen Hellicus knows they have the device and has her troops lying in wait. They also find out that the Woodsman was once a general in the Emos army. He has vowed to lead the squad not only into Emos but directly to the Citadel.
Can this Woodsman be trusted? He has said there is another pass into Emos, but they must go south to get to it. Should Sara believe him? And what about General Allison. Although a member of the squad, he is a general in the Delland Army and they are the sworn enemy of Queen Bellfourth. Does he have other plans for this mission? And what about her beloved Duke? Is he still alive? Can she save him? The fate of the mission is not looking promising. And what about the joint armies? Will they launch their attack on time in a month as planned or will King Childs of Delland somehow interfere, putting her assault on the Citadel in jeopardy? Queen Bellfourth has more questions than answers.
